The title of the three-part piece I am working on at the moment, so far I have completed the thumbnails and some concept, starting to work on the first part of these works. While I’m keeping with a friendly, colourful, and simple style, the work is really about myself making a political statement.

The first image is the beginning of the story, and I wanted it to be about the ‘good’ the things we maybe take for granted, like how they say the best things in life are free. However, it’s been tough trying to some this up in such a simple way. One of the ideas was to represent things symbols, to start with, I thought oh lets use a character, a dove, or even a cute bunny came to mind. After playing around with that it became apparent it was not working, and in many ways, it came down to colours and the focus of the image.

The heart ‘sun’ which is bathing everything really was going to be something in the background, but in reality it was fighting over the other symbols in the image and ultimately the heart is a lot more powerful. Thus, I have shifted the focus point of the image up to the heart, while in turn capturing an essence of our natural self by using foliage; this also allowed me to frame the focus point, and create more depth of colour.

The foliage in the image right now is more of a test, than an idea of finalisation of the piece. Defiantly more work is required. I’ll keep you posted.

ithoh - part one - love

Hello, well I thought I would put up some info about what I have been up to. Mainly websites. www.nqh.uk.com got a major face lift, and a good old re-coding, I am pleased with the look, it speaks a bit more ‘high class’, while the coding redo has made really for a better layout, I ditched the old style lists for displaying the horses, and moved to this more thumbnail type deal as really it makes things more simple, and avoids the horrible little bug which was not fixed in the IE7 beta.

Other than this my mind has been a black hole, the only thing amazing to come out of it was ‘love monster’. It’s early stages but I am hoping to make something out of it. I will keep you posted. Over all, really, nothing good is going on for me right now, so it’s frustrating. I still have plenty of things to finishes though, so I can just do that untill something pops into my little brain.
